I steer away from violent, dehumanizing messes in general. I usually prefer the uplifting worlds of Brad Bird, Michel Gondry, Hayao Miyazaki, and their halcyon ilk.

And yet, I find myself drawn - like a wrestling fan to a car crash - to Superjail.

And this awesome writeup, complete with reference to the ol' Jacmac and Rad Boy, which I haven't even thought about for years. Why they don't mention Gary Panter as an influence, tho, I'll never know.

Make sure you watch the creators' very excellent earlier efforts, Barfight and Space War.

It's ugly and horrible, but still. There's some kinda wizardly pep goin' on there. No? No??

Why does everyone think a handmade puppet should be pleasing to the eye? It can be so much more. Seth Scriver is so far ahead of the rest of us, I just give up.

Why don't I read John K's blog more often? I don't know. All I do is miss great stuff like this:

Crystal. A Jack Kirby original, whom we all love, reimagined by Shane Glines. Thanks you guys.

Mars was way better in 1957. Thanks for the pointer, Commander Shat!

I really like Scott C's blog. Why not go look at it?

A monster attacking Paris in 1910! The story can finally be told!

It's Luc Besson so maybe it will be terrific like The Fifth Element. A guy can always hope.

I read about it at Animated News.

I haven't anything this great in a while... Beast Blog!

With accompanying books for anyone who has extra money laying around.

Thanks Drawn! for making it known unto me.
